Three reasons a screenshot is not evidence

Verification is an observation problem. Everything below is a way for the observation to be of the wrong thing without looking wrong.
  • Contaminated

    The second look is not a first-time visit

    A profile that has already seen the page keeps the cookies, the storage and whatever personalisation followed. One-time profiles end the session and discard all of it, so every observation starts where a new visitor starts.
  • Half-localised

    A German exit with an American clock is neither visitor

    An exit in Frankfurt reporting America/New_York and en-US is not the person you meant to be, and a site reading either one can serve accordingly. Timezone, locale, languages and geolocation are derived from the exit address rather than left to be set by hand.
  • Wrong surface

    The mobile page is a different page

    Creatives, placements and prices differ between the desktop and the mobile web, and a user-agent string edited on a desktop build is still a desktop browser underneath. The Android target resolves a named device model, so the mobile page is observed from a mobile device.

Exit-derived region
Timezone, locale, languages and geolocation come from the addressSet the proxy and the region follows it, so an observation cannot quietly disagree with itself. Every established platform in this category derives these, which is exactly why an observation that gets them wrong is worth nothing.

None of this has to be taken on trust. The proxy consistency check reads the exit address, the browser timezone, the locale, the language list and the WebRTC candidates in whatever browser you are reading this in, and shows where they disagree. It stores nothing.

    No iOS and no Safari

    Android is the only mobile target and Chromium is the only engine. iOS creatives and Safari-specific rendering cannot be observed here, and no user-agent value produces them.
  • Derived, not chosen

    Region follows the exit, so it cannot be invented

    Timezone, locale, languages and geolocation come from the exit address. Placing an observation in a city means holding an exit in it; there is no coordinate field that stands in for one.
